Substantive changes to this site, with dates. Corrections say what was wrong and for how long, because a corrections log that only records improvements is not a corrections log.

Correction

Corrected inaccurate advertising and cookie disclosures across the site

The Google AdSense script has been installed sitewide since 13 July 2026 so that Google can review the site. Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer, Terms of Use, About page, homepage, and cookie notice all still stated that advertising scripts were not enabled. That was wrong, and it stayed wrong for thirteen days.

All of those statements have been rewritten to describe what is actually deployed: the script is installed for review, the site is not approved to serve ads, no ad units are placed, Auto Ads are not enabled, and no ads are displayed — but Google may still set cookies because the script loads.

The homepage previously carried the claim "No data leaves your browser." With a third-party script loading on every page that was not accurate as an absolute statement, and it has been removed and replaced with a precise description of what stays local and what does not.

Correction

Removed cookie-notice buttons that did not control anything

The cookie notice previously offered Accept, Reject, and Customize controls. The AdSense script loads in the page head before that notice runs, so none of those buttons affected it. Choosing Reject changed nothing.

Rather than leave controls in place that implied a capability the site did not have, they have been removed. The notice is now an information notice: it states what is loaded, links to the Cookie Policy and to Google's own controls, and remembers only that you dismissed it.

A Google-certified consent mechanism will be configured through AdSense Privacy & Messaging before any personalised advertising is served to visitors in regions that require consent.

Publication

Published the methodology page disclosing every formula and planning assumption

Until now the site published calculator results without publishing how they were produced. The Website Cost Calculator in particular returned specific dollar figures derived from cost values we had chosen but never disclosed.

Every coefficient in that calculator is now published: the three project-type base values, the per-page value, the per-integration value, the per-copywriting-page value, the contingency percentage, and the recurring maintenance assumption. They appear both on the methodology page and on the calculator page itself, labelled as our planning assumptions rather than as market rates.

The methodology page also documents, for all eight calculators, the exact formula, the inputs, which outputs are direct arithmetic, what the model excludes, its limitations, and when professional advice is appropriate.

Correction

Removed an unsourced marketing budget claim

The Marketing Budget Calculator previously stated that many local service businesses start between 5% and 10% of revenue. We have no source for that figure and do not collect that data, so it should not have been presented as a fact about businesses generally.

It has been replaced with a description of what the percentage has to satisfy arithmetically, and the 8% default is now labelled as our starting value rather than as a benchmark.

Publication

Published five decision guides and rebuilt the guides section

The Guides section previously contained three cards linking to calculators, and no guides. Five full guides have been published covering marketing budgets and channel allocation, comparing paid search against SEO and email, website cost, the relationship between pricing and margin and break-even and revenue goals, and choosing AI tools.

Each guide states its assumptions, its limitations, and the decision it is meant to resolve, and carries a reviewed date.

Change

Retired the ten dashboard detail pages and two single-item section indexes

Each dashboard had its own page whose function was to deliver a file that is also available from the paired calculator and from the dashboards index. Those ten pages now redirect: the eight tool-specific ones to their related calculator, and the two combined workbooks to the dashboards index.

No downloads were removed. Every CSV and XLSX file remains available at its existing address.

The /ai-tools/ and /checklists/ indexes each contained a single item and largely repeated that item's own text. Both now redirect to the resource itself. If either section gains a third resource, the index will be restored.

Affected: /dashboards/ · /ai-tools/ · /checklists/

Correction

Fixed self-referential links and removed structured data that did not match the page

Four calculator pages contained links that pointed back to themselves, generated by an automatic term-linking rule. The rule now skips the current page.

Every tool page carried HowTo structured data describing a five-item list of general advice. That is not a procedure, so the markup did not describe what was on the page. It has been removed rather than reworded.

Empty placeholder elements marked for future ad slots have been removed from the tool template.

Affected: All calculator pages

Change

Stopped reusing calculator introductions as card text

The homepage and section indexes previously displayed each tool's full introduction paragraph as its card description, which meant the same text appeared on up to three pages. Each tool now has a short summary written specifically for cards.

The calculators index has been rewritten with original orientation content explaining which calculator answers which question, how revenue, profit, margin, ROI and break-even differ, and a suggested order of use.

A generic "How to read your estimate" block that appeared identically on all eight calculator pages has been removed and replaced with interpretation written for each individual calculator.

Change

Installed the Google AdSense script and published ads.txt

The AdSense script for publisher ID pub-6242870041806301 was added sitewide so that Google could access and review the site, and the corresponding ads.txt entry was published.

The site policies were not updated at the same time, which is the error corrected on 26 July 2026 and recorded above.

Affected: Site-wide · /ads.txt

Change

Aligned canonical URLs with trailing-slash routing

Canonical URLs were made consistent with the site's trailing-slash routing so that each page declares a single canonical address.

Change

Made the contact page launch-safe

Placeholder content was removed and the contact email was made visible, clickable, and copyable. At that time the contact form was marked as coming soon rather than presented as functional. That placeholder was removed in the 26 July 2026 recovery release and replaced with an explanation of why the site uses email rather than a form.

Affected: /contact/

Publication

Published the dashboards section and consolidated the earlier templates section

Ten downloadable planning workbooks were published in CSV and XLSX form with live formulas in the Excel versions, and the earlier /templates/ section was consolidated into /dashboards/ with a redirect.
